Delete your data

Last updated: 5 August 2026

You can ask SafeTag to delete your account and everything connected to it at any time. This page explains what we store and exactly how to request removal.

What we store

Option 1 — delete it yourself

  1. Sign in to SafeTag and open your Dashboard.
  2. To remove a single connected social account, open the branch and choose Disconnect next to the verified handle. This deletes the stored handle and the access token we received from the provider.
  3. To remove a business page, open the branch and choose Delete branch. The public page stops resolving immediately.
  4. To close your whole account, go to Settings → Delete account.

Option 2 — email us

Send a request from the email address on your SafeTag account to support@safetag.ng with the subject "Delete my data". Tell us whether you want the whole account removed or just a specific business page or connected social account.

Facebook and Instagram accounts connected to SafeTag

If you verified a Facebook Page or Instagram account, SafeTag only keeps the handle, the page/account ID and the access token needed to confirm ownership. Disconnecting the account on SafeTag, or removing SafeTag from your Facebook settings under Settings & Privacy → Apps and Websites, deletes that data from our systems. You can also email us as described above and we will do it for you.

How long it takes

Self-service deletions take effect immediately. Emailed requests are confirmed and completed within 30 days. We will email you when the deletion is done.

What we may keep

For legal, accounting and fraud-prevention reasons we may retain a minimal record of scam reports, payment receipts and abuse logs after your account is deleted. These records are stripped of your contact details and are never shown on a public SafeTag page.
