Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 August 2026

SafeTag is operated by SafeTag Verify Limited. SafeTag™ is a trademark of SafeTag Verify Limited. In these terms, "SafeTag", "we" and "us" mean SafeTag Verify Limited.

1. What SafeTag does

SafeTag lets a business publish its official bank account(s) on one verified page so customers can confirm payment details before sending money. SafeTag does not process, hold, or transfer customer funds.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate business and bank information. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything published under your SafeTag.

3. Brands and locations

One account can hold several brands (businesses), each with one or more locations and its own payment accounts. How many brands, locations and accounts you may create depends on your plan; the limits shown on the pricing page apply. Each location is responsible for the accuracy of the accounts published on its page.

4. Bank verification

To earn the Bank-Verified badge we ask you to send a small transfer (₦200) from the account you are claiming, using a unique code as the narration. This proves you control the account. The amount is credited to your next subscription. Verification is awarded per account and can be withdrawn if the account details change or the claim turns out to be false.

Review turnaround. Reviews carried out by a person — bank deposits, social accounts, shop videos and name claims — are normally decided within 4 working hours, where working hours are 8am–8pm West Africa Time. A request received outside those hours starts counting at 8am the next working morning. This is a target, not a guarantee; delays can occur where information is incomplete or inaccurate, where fraud is suspected, or where a third party such as a bank or social platform is slow to respond.

5. Acceptable use

Do not impersonate other businesses, publish bank accounts you do not control, submit false scam reports, or use SafeTag to defraud users. We may suspend or remove any account that violates these rules.

6. Names and short codes

Short codes are assigned on a first-come basis, but a name is not owned by whoever registers it first. Certain well-known names are reserved. If another business proves it is the genuine owner of a name, we may reassign the short code to them; the previous code redirects for a limited period (90 days) so existing posters and labels keep working. Verified businesses take precedence over unverified ones in name disputes.

7. Reports and feedback

Customers can submit anonymous fraud reports, impersonation reports and feedback. Reports are reviewed by our team before anything is shown publicly. Knowingly submitting false reports is a breach of these terms.

8. Subscriptions and printed items

Paid plans are billed through our payment processor at the price shown at checkout. Plans renew automatically until cancelled. Printed items ordered from the print shop are produced to order. See our Refund Policy.

9. No warranty

SafeTag is provided "as is." A SafeTag verification confirms that the business owner published those account details on their page; it is not a guarantee of any transaction. Always confirm payment on the merchant's own SafeTag page.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SafeTag Verify Limited is not liable for losses arising from transactions between you and any third party.
